Acquittal of Davit Grigolia, an expert of the Medical Department of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau.

On 30 June 2026, Judge Mzia Lomtadze of the Criminal Chamber of the Tbilisi Court of Appeals upheld the acquittal delivered on 16 December 2025 by Judge Eka Areshidze of the Criminal Chamber of the Tbilisi City Court in the case of Davit Grigolia, an expert of the Medical Department of the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau. His interests were successfully represented before both court instances by our Managing Partner, Tamar Kuchava.

By the decision of the Court of Appeals, Davit Grigolia’s innocence was finally confirmed, and the acquittal of the first-instance court remained in force.

We believe that this decision is not merely the acquittal of one expert. It represents recognition of professional integrity, medical ethics, and the values that doctors and experts loyal to the Hippocratic Oath serve every day.
